Calories or Kilojoules are contingents ofenergy. It's basically what we measure energy in. We need vigour tofunction, to get through the day. the BMR or the Basel Metabolic Rate sometimescalled the RMR, Resting Metabolic Rate is our amount of calories that we'reburning when we're completely sedentary so mostly first thing in the morningwhen we wake up that is our BMR and this is the amount of calories we need to doto the minimum, just for our people to function while we're at rest. Nowobviously we all do more than that so we're all be needing more calories thanthat. You know if we take a few steps we need calories, if we've gotquite a busy lifestyle you'll need even more. If you're very active in your work or youdo a lot of employ and you need even more calories. Now we get calories fromfat, proteins, carbohydrates and likewise a little bit from fiber and as a rule ofthumb it's 9 calories per gram of overweight, 4 calories per gram of protein or carbsand 2 calories per gram fiber
